Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard are parents who believe there is no such thing as other people’s children. (Though they reserve the right to deny that when it’s diaper duty time.) They are two of hello bello’s co-founders and they started the company because they believe all babies deserve the best, which means all parents need access to affordable, premium products. To fulfill that dream, we’re making better stuff for babies, parents, and the planet – at far lower prices, made possible by partnering exclusively with Walmart.
Kristen was busy on a full promotional mood as she stopped by Today, SiriusXM and a celebration by MOMs for the official launch of the product.
When it comes to stranger danger and conversations around consent, Frozen’s Anna has a lot of questions for Snow White.
Kristen Bell reads every night to daughters Lincoln, 5, and Delta, 3. “It’s truly my favorite part of the day,” Bell says. “I glance away from the book and see their brains working while we’re all cuddled up like meerkats.”
But the ladies don’t just read, they discuss—especially classic Disney storylines.
“Every time we close Snow White I look at my girls and ask, ‘Don’t you think it’s weird that Snow White didn’t ask the old witch why she needed to eat the apple? Or where she got that apple?’ I say, ‘I would never take food from a stranger, would you?’ And my kids are like, ‘No!’ And I’m like, ‘Okay, I’m doing something right.’”
The apple question is not the only one that Bell—a Disney Princess herself as the voice of Anna in Frozen—has after reading the tale. “Don’t you think that it’s weird that the prince kisses Snow White without her permission?” Bell says she has asked her daughters. “Because you can not kiss someone if they’re sleeping!”
Bell herself is working on a children’s book, and the process has made her appreciate how far children’s literature has come. “There’s a book called Grumpy Monkey that we love that allows the monkey to be grumpy, even at the end. Other characters give him solutions but he decides he’s still grumpy,” Bell explains. “I’ve had that feeling, and I want my girls to know that you’re allowed to feel it. Figure out ways to pick yourself up when you are ready. I really like that message.”
Reading gets Bell jazzed, both sharing books the traditional way and projecting books on a wall using the Moonlite device and a smartphone. “My oldest is learning to read in Kindergarten, so she’s pointing out letters. It makes me excited,” Bell says. “I look at my child’s brain like a hungry stomach. I have to feed it every day. Even if I’m rushed, I have to feed their brain just like I feed their belly.”
Bell has old books from her childhood, courtesy of her mom, and says those are often outdated. (“There’s a fear-based toddler-teaching book with Mr. Fox getting hit by a car, his head bleeding and Xs on his eyes. I’m like, ‘Mom, you read this to me?’ God bless the 80s, I don’t know how we got through.“) More current favorites include Uni the Unicorn and We’re All Wonders.
When she and the girls are done with books, they donate them to Baby2Baby. “There’s a bin outside my child’s preschool and nearly every time I drop her off, I put something in there: shoes, jeans she just outgrew, books. Baby2Baby takes them to a giant warehouse, cleans and separates everything, and invites parents and caregivers to ‘shop’ for free. It’s kind of a perfect system.”
Bell will return as Veronica Mars on Hulu this Summer.

Kristen Bell attended the Baby2Baby’s Storytime Playdate on Thursday (October 11) at the Baby2Baby Headquarters in Los Angeles.
She was joined at the event by fellow Baby2Baby ambassadors Kelly Rowland and Rachel Zoe.
The non-profit organization teamed up with Moonlite, the number one children’s reading toy, to raise awareness of the importance of childrens’ literacy and have a fun day of reading and activities.
“Had such a beautiful day with these @baby2baby lovebugs. Thank you @moonlite.world for this special story time and for sending these sweethearts home with a bag full of helpful goodies. @Baby2Baby, you rule,” Kristen wrote on her Instagram.
The rumours of a second revival are indeed true! Kristen Bell announced on Twitter on Thursday (September 20) that streaming service Hulu has ordered an eight-episode miniseries to premiere in the US next year.
“This is a very important marshmallow announcement,” she explained to her followers in a personal video. “Did you guys know that as of summer 2019, all the old Veronica Mars episodes will be available on Hula to stream and re-watch, which is great because you’ll need to brush up since we’re making another one.”
“Veronica has always been a super hero without a Cape. And I think she’s exactly what the world needs right now,” Kristen explained on Instagram. “Thank you to all my fellow marshmallows who stayed excited.”
“Thank you to @hulu for the opportunity,” she continued. “I hope we’re all still friends after I taser you.”
According to Hulu, the new limited series is focused on spring breakers getting murdered in Neptune, thereby decimating the seaside town’s lifeblood tourist industry. After Mars Investigations is hired by the parents of one of the victims to find their son’s killer, Veronica is drawn into an epic eight-episode mystery that pits the enclave’s wealthy elites, who would rather put an end to the month-long bacchanalia, against a working class that relies on the cash influx that comes with being the West Coast’s answer to Daytona Beach.
The original series ran on UPN (before turning into The CW) for three seasons between 2004 and 2007.
Kristen Bell stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live on August 8 and addressed why she wears gloves while swimming in a pool.
Host Jimmy brought up the pool gloves that he and Kristen‘s hubby Dax Shepard discussed during his appearance in July: “Is it proper to call it a phobia?” Kimmel asked, referring to Kristen‘s repulsion to “the feeling of pruney fingers.”
“I would call it a very serious medical, undiagnosed and yet to be discovered medical condition that tens of people in America might also suffer from,” Kristen expressed. “When they’re wet, it’s like, I’ll puke. I will truly puke. I have a physical nausea.”
“When they’re wet, it’s like, I’ll puke. I will truly puke,” Kristen added. “If [my hands] were wet I could probably get away with touching cement, I could get away with touching my bathing suit or another piece of skin if it wasn’t ridgy, but Dax is always in the pool.”
“I’m not ashamed because, in my lifetime, I want to remove the stigma of the maybe 10 people who also maybe suffer from [this],” Kristen said. “You’re not alone.”
Kristen was wearing a Victoria Beckham top and skirt, Jimmy Choo shoes and jewelry by Jennifer Meyer.
