When it comes to fitness, Kristen Bell keeps it in the family.
“My go-to workout is usually hiking,” Bell, 33, told PEOPLE at the American Express Epic EveryDay Getaway with Soul Cycle in New York on Friday.
And while the actress does a lot of hiking with friends, her cutest exercise companion is 15-month-old daughter Lincoln.
“I often will strap the baby to my chest for the hike,” Bell says. (Maybe Lincoln’s the secret behind the first-time mom’s amazing body after baby?)
With her busy work schedule, Bell notes combining fitness and family time with Lincoln and husband Dax Shepard, 39, has become an effective (and enjoyable!) solution.
“[Hiking] is easy because sometimes it doesn’t actually take me away from anything because my whole family’s coming on the hike,” Bell says.
As for her growing little girl, Bell’s still smitten. “She’s delicious. It’s such a fun age,” she says. “I feel like having a toddler is exhausting and extremely rewarding — and far more rewarding than exhausting.”
Kristen Bell is in the May 2014 issue of Allure Magazine. Here is a snippet of here interview.
What’s your favorite body part? “I’m a big fan of buns. Buns and cakes. On anybody. Not just my own. I mean, I’m a fan of my own buns. I’m very happy with the amount that I’ve been given, and I often attempt to sculpt them into something more than what I’ve been given. But I notice other people’s buns quite a bit.”
Were you comfortable with your body while you were pregnant? “I was terribly frightened that I would feel like a schlub and not at all beautiful. But I’ve never been so comfortable with my body. When I looked in the mirror, I saw Cindy Crawford.”
Have you ever used a body double? “I have definitely and happily used a body double. It’s a very nice thing to be able to rely on.”
